Franklin County – July 24th, 2025 – Bartlett Engineering & Surveying, PC is proud to highlight the generosity and community spirit of one of our long-time employees, Thomas Bass, who took a day to give back to local youth. On July 24th, Thomas volunteered his time to teach several groups of the Girl Scouts of Franklin County the basics of fishing at another volunteer’s private pond.
Surveying Manager at Bartlett Engineering & Surveying for over 19 years, Thomas has always been known for going above and beyond—both in the workplace and in the community. With a passion for the outdoors and a deep commitment to mentorship, he saw the opportunity to share skills and create meaningful experiences for young girls eager to learn about nature, patience, and perseverance through fishing.
“Seeing the girls rotate through with different experience levels, some howl at catching their first fish and some show off their fishing skills they gathered from relatives back home but all of them smile and laugh,” said Bass about his experience.
The event, coordinated in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Franklin County, focused on fishing safety, basic casting techniques, conservation education, and—most importantly—fun.
“We’re incredibly proud of Thomas for leading by example and exemplifying our core values, particularly Servant-Mindedness and Enthusiasm” said Robert Bartlett, President of Bartlett Engineering. “Taking personal time to mentor and empower young people reflects the kind of character we’re thankful to have on our team.”
Bartlett Engineering & Surveying, PC encourages all employees to find ways to give back to causes they care about, and we applaud Thomas for taking time to mentor the next generation.
